off Race Point.

Wayne brought along his friend John Sayles who was fishing for stripers for the first time. The group was picked up at Green Harbor and we headed for Race Point, trolling wire line and parachute jigs.

Repeat customer Wayne Ernst of Boston lands a beauty.

The fishing was excellent, landing over a dozen large keeper bass with the largest topping out at 38". It was an excellent day fishing as the terns worked the large piles of sand eels being driven to the surface by these fish. As we fished in tight to the beach we watched other boats around us landing several large bass as well.

COD TRIPS

June 2003

Captain Dave has been busy getting RELENTLESS ready for tuna fishing and striped bass charters. Fishing aboard RELENTLESS on May 31st was Bill Kola and his party from Connecticut. On Saturday the 7th of June, Captain Mark hosted Mike Oswienski and his friends also from Connecticut.

And just this past weekend, Kevin Soares and his party from Providence, RI were welcomed aboard for a full day of fishing.

Please take a look at the photos of the guys with their catches and I apologize for not inserting the names of the gentleman. It has been a few long weeks with the rain and cold.

Fishing has been steady with a good mix of pollock, cod and haddock coming over the rails. The fish have not been like the large steakers we landed during the month of March but they are excellent eating.

Most of the fish were landed on jigs with many of the haddock falling to bait. Some days marking fish under the boat that just won't eat can make the crew a little crazy.

Now that we have 90 degree tempertures, it shouldn't be long before the school tuna arrive along with the many species of sharks we have in the wasters surrounding Massachusetts Bay.

This weekend we will be focusing on striped bass as with many of our customers registered for the Massachusetts Striped Bass Association Annual Charity Tournament.

We have plenty of openings for all types of fishing so please give us a call to reserve your next fishing escape with Nautical Adventure Charters.

The crew of RELENTLESS wishes you tight lines and a great summer.

COD TRIP

Monday, May 19, 2003

Casey Cote, Jack Adomelis, Travis Wood and his father Ray
holding some of the nice cod they caught throughout the day.

RELENTLESS conducted a charter with the Wayne Wood of Woodbury, CT and his son Travis. Joining him was Gerry Stomski, Karl Lindahl, Casey Cote and Jack Adomelis all from CT. Leaving the dock at 5:30 in the morning we were landing fish by 7:15 in the same shallow waters we had fished the previous day. These fish were hungry, feasting on sand eels, herring and mackerel. Massachusetts Bay and Stellwagen Bank have been brought alive by this recent invasion.

Travis Wood with a real nice cod caught on a jig.

Karl Lindahl with one of his cod caught during the early morning.

Most of the fish were caught in the morning and we later headed to the north to fish one of my favorites spots. With flat calm seas we started landing cod to 20 lbs. as well as some real large haddock. This kept our mate Stan Gaskin, who is also one great fisherman himself, busy throughout the entire day filleting the catch. This group of guys knew how to fish and before leaving, stated they would be back again for another great day on the water.

Gerry Stomski holds a good eating-size haddock which
couldn't resist a jig and teaser combination.

Jack Adomelis holds a nice steaker cod
caught in the deep water later in the day.

Once again, thanks to all of the parties that have fished with us this year.
If you are interested in bringing home some nice cod fish, we currently have a few openings for shared charters. Also, we are now booking striped bass charters with four hour, five hour, six hour and all day trips available.

Give us a call today to book your next charter aboard RELENTLESS.

Tom McGreenery with a decent pollock caught on a jig.

On Sunday May 18, RELENTLESS fished with repeat customer Tom McGreenery, catching legal limits of cod and pollock. The action was fast and furious as we fished in near the beaches of Truro and Provincetown. The fish fell victim to both bait, jig and teaser combinations.

Tim Coughlin shows off one of his cod caught on a clam rig.

Brent Miller holding one of his many cod.

Being in the shallow water, most of the fish were not exceptionally large. However, with their determination and skill, these anglers landed plenty of fish to provide several decent meals back home.

The action was in close to the Provincetown and
Truro beaches in only 50 feet of water.

Even the birds got into the action, diving on the large
sand eels which the cod were feeding on.

Bill Stebbins who almost missed the boat
had a great day on the water.

We still have space available for shared codfish charters and private bass, cod, shark and school bluefin tuna charters. If interested please give us a call or send an e-mail.

COD TRIPS

April 22, 23 & 25, 2003

Henry from New York holding a nice wolf fish

RELENTLESS conducted three fishing trips last week and unfortunately the fishing was hot and cold. As you may notice, Captain Dave did not take the number of photos he usually does as he was busy focused on finding fish and helping out on deck.

RELENTLESS fished on Tuesday, April 22nd, with repeat customer Captain Dave Keeney and his party of four limiting out on cod to 18 lbs. Most of the fish were located east of the BE buoy in the deeper water. Fish were caught on jigs and teasers in the morning and primarily with bait in the afternoon during the tide change.

Captain Dave Keeney of Hamton CT shows off an average cod

On Wednesday, April, 23rd, RELENTLESS conducted a shared charter with two groups aboard. Jim Volpe and Jules Silvis from Mass Striped Bass Association and the south shore area joined Captain Fred Bowman and his good friend Peter from Newport. We fished the waters east and northeast of the BE Buoy with the fishing being a little slow. Jules managed to land the largest cod of the day around 15 lbs with Captain Fred picking up fish on bait. Everyone did manage to go home with fillets for the freezer. Unfortunately, we did not reach our legal limits on this day.

Jules Silvis holds a cod that could not resist a jig

On Friday, April 25th, RELENTLESS had aboard Scott Bucholz and his party of six from the Wurtsboro, NY area. These guys are serious fisherman and hunters who go on many trips together. The fishing was a little slow but with a good bite using clams on the shoal water in the early morning hours this group caught cod and wolf fish to 14 lbs allowing them to go home satisfied with enough fillets to last for a while. They had a great time and look forward to scheduling another cod fishing trip aboard RELENTLESS next fall.

COD TRIP

Saturday, April 15, 2003

Tim Riggs with a nice Stellwagen Bank Cod

RELENTLESS was underway early on Saturday, April 19th for a codfishing trip out of Green Harbor with Ted White, Tim Riggs, Lou Gorman, Bill Whaling and Charlie Steinmar all from the Barnegat, New Jersey area. This group of gentleman work for Egg Harbor Yachts a company known for their attention to detail. These guys had all the details down when it came to fishing, limiting out with fish averaging 10 lbs. The largest fish of the day was a nice 20 lber caught on a clam by Tim Riggs.

Charlie and Bill checking out the catch

Early in the morning the bite was slow as we fished the shoal water using jigs on the southern portion of the bank. The fishing certainly picked up when we headed east into deeper water. The larger fish gulped down the New Jersey surf clams these guys had brought aboard. It was quite obvious theses guys knew how to fish. Ted White is a captain himself and owns and runs a charterboat out of Barneget Light, NJ fishing for Blues and Sea Bass from April through December.

Ted White holding a fish that couldn't resist a Jersey Sea Clam

Having an experienced crew aboard certainly made life easier for Mark who mated for the day and filleted and skinned the catch the entire ride home. When we landed back in Green Harbor, these anglers inquired about another trip and went home with plenty of tasty fillets for friends and family. Thanks guys for the great day aboard RELENTLESS.

SHARED CHARTER COD TRIP

Saturday, March 8, 2003

Saturday, March 8th, RELENTLESS conducted a shared cod fishing charter with repeat customer Alan Sharaf. On board for the first time were John Duncun, Frank Killion, Vin McCarthy, Dana Russo and Anthony Maiorano, all from MA. Our mate for the day was Ken Magin who also owns his own boat and lives to fish.

After reaching the eastern edge of Stellwagen Bank we had plenty of company including several large draggers and gill-netters all targeting cod and haddock. Once we stopped, the jigs and teasers were sent to the depths below. The day started out slow, with the fish not interested in eating and we had to pick through spotty concentrations of codfish while fishing within yards of other boats. Alan had the first fish of the day - a nice white-bellied cod weighing 10 lbs.

Everyone aboard had a few fish and after a couple of moves and the tide change, the action heated up. We drifted over hungry bunches of fish aggressively hitting our teasers and jigs. The hot teaser of the day, were those that Dana brought along which he hand ties and sells to tackle shops and other fisherman. If you are interested in purchasing some of these direct from Dana, contact him at MDRusso507@aol.com. Dana, had the largest fish of the day with a fish weighing in around 15 lbs.

We had a great day on the water with very calm seas, temperatures around 45 degrees, bright sunshine and a fantastic group of fisherman aboard. Everyone went home with their legal limits of good size codfish that Ken filleted on the way home. Providing plenty of meat for several meals.

Presently, RELENTLESS has available openings, for both shared and private charters as early as next weekend and into the summer. If you are interested in fishing aboard RELENTLESS please give us a call or contact us by email at the link below.

Note: We will be running from the Scituate area starting on April 1st, putting everyone closer to the bank and resulting in more time for you to fish.
